Bearer of gifts

That lovely old regular comes in and brings you a present. Sweet and touching. These are our guests which give us light. The present can be anything; a box of chocolates, flowers or some well-meant expired coupons. It is the thought behind it which matters.
What tells do we have on this person:

  • A regular
  • Knows about your personal life

Of course there are kindhearted people, just because they can. Cherish them and feel free to consider them friends.
Many times they will bring you a present for a special occasion. Perhaps your birthday or when you are going through rough times. These people remember your private conversations with them.

In general, there is nothing more to it. However, keep in mind when accepting a gift it is only human to feel you are in some sort of debt. This is not true. Gifts should come without credit due.

Personal note:

“Beware of Greeks bearing gifts…” What a lovely saying indeed. This saying originated from the Trojan Horse which comes from ancient Greek mythology. The city of Troy got a peace offering; a wooden horse. Only to find out it was filled with soldiers who took over the city once the ‘present’ was brought inside city walls.

No red flags, but just take of yourself and think why anyone presents you a gift. If intentions are pure, the bearer of gifts might look like an angel from heaven.

Sincerely,

Den The Man
