Fun ways to open a beer bottle
As a bartender things might not always turn out the way you planned. This very much applies to your bar-tools being there when you need them.
So in order to be able to open a bottle of beer, sometimes you need to get creative.
We decided to test some of the theories with stuff you probably have in your bar, and see if they worked:
-
A normal bar-blade
-
A key
-
A lighter
-
A fork, spoon or knife
-
Another beer bottle
-
A banknote
-
A rubber band
-
And some more crazy ways to open a bottle of beer
Opening a bottle of beer obviously works best with either a speed-opener or wine key(they actually double as a bottle cap opener).
Try to just use the right tools for the job, doing otherwise might result in harming yourself or others.
Personal note:
This topic might come in handy when out camping or having fun at your friends’ house. I’ll admit that several times while bartending I forgot I had lent out my bar-blade and to make do with what I could. I used keys, lighters, beer crates, bar-spoons, mobile phones and more. Some of those did not live to tell the story. Be smarter than me please, just use the proper bar-tools.
Sincerely,
Den The Man
