Gastro-numbers

Our industry is one of the biggest in the world. Multiple the number of establishments with average staffing and you have millions of colleagues, perhaps billions. How is that for a family?

Having these numbers opens up great potential. The amount of knowledge and information is immense and being able to share and learn would greatly benefit each individual working hospitality.
With numbers shifting every day it is impossible to give an exact amount of establishments, especially considering we could overlook a small coconut cocktailbar on the beach in Africa, or a desert hole-in-the-wall in Australia’s wildlife. And do we consider the guy who has gathered some POS-material and built his own tavern in his shed?

To make it all a little bit more comprehensible, DenTheMan24 will break down the numbers in the following categories:

DenTheMan24 is your go-to as a hospitality professional. The reason for splitting numbers between 4 major markets is that in each of them the culture is roughly the same. We could break it down massively to region and themes but it would be a long read.

Personal note:

Most hospitality workers like travelling and money, and that’s what makes our industry so wonderful. Because in hospitality you can do and/or have both. It is all about choices in life ofcourse. I travelled a lot when younger and being able to work everywhere because you are part of a ‘family’ is heartwarming. Not all countries allow foreigners to work, even temporarily, but there a so many other places to see where it is allowed. That’s why my numbers are for US, Europe, Russia and Australia. If you are from 1 of these areas, you are allowed to work and travel within the same area! Follow your dreams and live life!

Sincerely,

Den The Man
