Same order every time

Humans are predictable in many ways. When ordering a drink this is especially true. And it makes sense, if you have a favorite drink then why not stick to it.
What tells do we have on this person:

• A regular

• Does not look at the menu

• Proceeds to order before or as soon as they come in

Great regulars. Not a lot of conversation needed, and actually not even an order. You just start to make their favorite as you see them coming in. It doesn’t really matter what drink it is. If it is always the same, just proceed directly and have it ready asap. This absolutely adds to the value of the Guest Experience Cycle.

If you know their order, you also know if they like a conversation and what subject. So go ahead and do your routine. Not much more to it.

Personal note:

The regular which is predictable is awesome. Unless of course this person in general is misbehaving for example. You might still know their order, but that doesn’t mean you like to see them come in. We take the good with the bad every day and this is no different.
