Service
The service industry requires you to multitask your whole shift. It is a tough job, mentally and physically.
To help you out DenTheMan has some easy tricks how to tackle your most common situations. Take note and you will be up and running in no time:
As a server you are responsible for serving food and drinks, but first of all you need to take care of your guests and their needs.
There is no need to be humble and invisible, take initiative. The moments where you feel like it will never end… Turn that around and now you decide how your shift will progress. Try and think what you can do to help your guest at a given moment, and go for it. Being 1 step ahead since you are in charge!
At some point you might feel overwhelmed. Now you can try and powerhouse through it but it does not make your service level go up. No matter how busy you are, take 30 seconds or a minute to re-organize everything in your mind. Have a mini-break and get back in there fully focused.
Personal note:
If you are working in service, you know it can be a stressful job. It might not be brain surgery, but then again it does sometimes feel like it. For sure it is underestimated. If you are good at your service job, you can be good at any job. Believe in yourself!
Sincerely,
Den The Man
